Al Falah Mosque
The Al Falah Mosque is a
purpose built place of prayer, worship and teaching for the muslim
community of the Deane area of Bolton in the north of England . The Mosque
is a large building on two floors . Large open areas on
theground and first floor allow the congregations to gather. The first floor is supported
in the centre by three sections of structural steelwork. Numerous windows
on the ground and first floor allow a large amount of natural light into
the building. The external decor of the building reflects the purpose and
the cultural identity of Islam.

During the construction, Dresser
were invited to suggest designs to hide the structural support steelwork
on the ground floor, provide decorative window surrounds, timber
mouldings and a design outline for the mehrab's on the ground and first
floor.
(The mehrab is a prayer focal point for the congregation where the immam
or priest ,addresses the audience.)
(The mehrab is positioned accurately pointing to Mecca.)

The ground floor Mehrab is a little smaller than the first floor. Dresser CL8 MDF columns were split in half to form the pilaster column effect. The construction is similar to the upstairs unit. | ![]() |
